With tremendous experience in high-level government relations and strong associations with the sugar, power, and manufacturing industries in Central and Latin America, Mark brings a wealth of leadership to Claren. Formerly, as the Managing Director for Western Hemisphere affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Mark led the efforts to pass the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). He also served as the Executive VP, Brazil-U.S. Business Council and was the head of the Chamber's Biofuels Initiative. This high-level government relations expertise is complemented by fluency in Portuguese and Spanish, and dual citizenship in the US and Brazil . Mark has an International MBA from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and an undergraduate degree from William and Mary Based on years of helping clients solve challenging problems, Pete is an expert at developing and executing successful business strategies. Previously at start-ups BluePrint Marketing and Current Analysis, Pete held senior executive positions in multiple disciplines including technology development, project management, sales, and marketing. Prior to Current Analysis, Pete worked as a Legislative Assistant at the US House of Representatives. He has an International MBA with honors from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. An experienced professional iwth more than 20 years of development and operations expertise in Brazil, Edmundo brings a wealth of knowledge to Claren. Previously, he was the head of cogeneration for a private equity- backed sugar group with five mills. His other roles include development of projects at Orien Originacao em Energy, where he was responsible for developing small hydro projects for American investors and managing the sale of the electricity generated to large industrial consumers on the “free market”. Prior to his stint at Orien, he served on the administrative board of Companhia Forca e Luz Cataguazes Leopoldina. Other previous positions include as a Director at Alliant Energy Brazil and General Manager of Corporate Affairs for UTE Norte Fluminese at EDF. |
